Glorious Pug.

So, bear with me random, occasional Reader, as I go a little new-camera-crazy. I might over the next couple of weeks, post shots like this one. over and over. But seriously, I have never been able to get a decent indoor picture of Cooper before! He's jet black, so it's impossible to even see him without a flash with my old camera. The Rebel, however, has the ability to take a photo with the flash without completely washing out any hint of a background! It's beautiful how you can see Cooper in his full wrinkly, fat, stinky capacity. Go ahead, enjoy him.

Carrie's in town!

I have two best friends. I'm lucky enough to live across the street from one of them (Angie). Unfortunately the third leg of our wacky little magical tripod (Carrie) lives in Austin, TX, where she's a rockstar rollergirl. Though her location makes for an awesome place visit, our tripod is a little lopsided without her. Fortunately she's in town for the holidays and our inappropriate threesome is complete once more.

Here's what we did last night (this is shortly before the jagerbombs, and way, way before the hellacious hangover).
Angie, angie's dude (Andy), and Carrie (front).
bad habit. cool picture.
So I had a helluva hard time photographing this damn thing. YES, that is absolutely THE Stanley Cup. in person. I touched it. Carrie kept asking "Exactly who is this Stanley Cup guy, anyway".
I've concluded that girls usually suck at shaky face pictures. I think she looks alot like Uma Thurman here.
P.S. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE my new camera!

a new camera and a haircut.

So my mom made me a very, very, happy girl this year when I unwrapped my solitary/most glorious Christmas gift—a brand new Cannon Rebel XSI!!!!!! yeah, it definitely warrants all six of those exclamation points. I'm not sure what I did to deserve this photographic upgrade, but I'm not about to ask :)

(note my new hipster haircut, compliments of the visiting hipster best friend)

a merry christmas!

I'm slowly coming down from my Holiday high. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that I just had the best Christmas of my adult life. I'm a lucky girl.

Rodger and the Christmas pug.
My Grandma has some fantastic old ornaments!
They don't come much cuter than my goddaughter, Ava!
My friends apparently know me very well. This is one of the coolest, most thoughtful gifts I've received in a long time! happiness!

thinking warm thoughts...

Well, Dayton, Ohio has successfully completed it's transition into an icy tundra. On the news this morning, they said it was zero degrees! Seriously ZERO degrees? That's not even a temperature. It's the lack of one.

So I've been holding back this post for just such an occasion. These pictures are from a very balmy day this summer when I went to a showing for some of my Uncle's mobile sculptures. It is a warm, shiny, little pearl of a memory spent with my wonderful family at a tiny, still-functioning mill called (appropriately) Bear's Mill.

Just thinking about it makes me feel all warm and happy inside. I hope it makes you feel even a little bit fuzzy!

Christmas Decorations.

We went for a little more of a classic color pallet this year...Vintage choir nuns that my Grandma gave me!
