A few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to take a couple hours off of work to go to Cincinnati for a photo "shoot-around". A very patient and nice photographer, Brian Steege, that my company had worked with sent out an open invitation for anyone interested in photography to come down. He offered up advice, answered questions, and insisted I give his very expensive 50 lb. (at least it felt that way) lense a whirl. It was an excellent opportunity to learn from an extremely talented professional.

When I started sorting through my shots, I noticed a very prevalent yellow theme. Being the fan of the happy hue that I am, I'm gonna feature those first.

yard sale saturday

Had a garage sale last saturday, just a few short hours before my huge tiki-themed birthday party that we threw that night. Yes, we bit off a little more than we could chew. 

Our total earnings? About 50 bucks. woohoo.

my sister-in-law stopped by, showed off her AWESOME new tattoo, and left with an armful of our old goods.

These are cool. Can't imagine why no one wanted them. And what about our unopened fondue pot? Come on!

Part II to the "Why I have the Best Husband in the World" post.  Just when I thought the awesome birthday gift-getting was over, I discovered a discretely placed parcel in the basement. It contained a brand new Lensbaby tilt-shift lens! Yeah, I was a bit spoiled this year.

I'm still trying to get the hang of it. I brought it to a family function last weekend and gave it a whirl. This is what I came up with.
